Committed to Your Smile

"I feel very fortunate to have found a profession as rewarding as orthodontics! Your smile is one of the first things people notice about you.

Orthodontics can change your life by boosting your confidence and self-esteem. I see it every day, and it's a gratifying experience for our whole team.

Getting to know our patients and their families is also rewarding. I love seeing my patients out in our community and realizing that I played a part in their brilliant smiles. When we see patients who can't stop smiling, we know we've accomplished our goal."

Dr. Neil was recently voted Boston Magazine's 2018 Top Dentist - Specialty in Orthodontics. This distinction is an honor as it is only voted on by licensed dentists in the state of Massachusetts.

Orthodontists vs. Dentists: Why Choose an Orthodontist?

While both orthodontists and dentists are essential for maintaining your oral health, their areas of expertise differ significantly. Dentists handle a broad range of dental care, including cleanings, fillings, crowns, and overall oral hygiene. Orthodontists, however, receive additional years of specialized training after dental school that focuses on diagnosing, preventing, and treating dental and facial irregularities. Orthodontists are experts in aligning teeth and correcting bite issues, ensuring not only a straight smile but also proper jaw function and overall oral health.

The Life-Changing Benefits of Orthodontic Treatment

Orthodontic treatment offers far-reaching benefits beyond simply straightening teeth. It can improve your physical health, mental well-being, social interactions, and even your professional opportunities. Here’s why investing in orthodontic care is one of the best decisions you can make for your life:

Physical Benefits

A well-aligned smile makes it easier to maintain good oral hygiene. When your teeth are properly aligned, they are easier to brush and floss, reducing the risk of cavities, gum disease, and other dental problems. Additionally, correcting bite issues through orthodontics can alleviate problems such as jaw pain, tooth grinding, and uneven wear on your teeth. This not only enhances the appearance of your smile but also improves your overall dental health and function, ensuring that your teeth last a lifetime.

Mental and Emotional Benefits

A beautiful, straight smile can dramatically improve your self-esteem and confidence. Many people who are self-conscious about their teeth often hide their smiles in public or feel anxious in social situations. Orthodontic treatment can provide a significant confidence boost, helping you feel more comfortable and secure in your appearance. When you love your smile, it shows in how you carry yourself, interact with others, and engage in everyday activities.

Social Benefits

In today’s world, first impressions matter, and a confident smile plays a big role in how you’re perceived by others. Whether you’re meeting new people, attending social events, or simply smiling for a photo, a straight smile can make you feel more at ease. Studies have shown that people with attractive smiles are often seen as more approachable, friendly, and successful. Orthodontic treatment can enhance your social presence, allowing you to engage more freely and confidently in social interactions.

Professional Benefits

In the professional realm, a great smile can open doors. Whether you’re interviewing for a job, giving a presentation, or networking with peers, the confidence that comes with a straight smile can make a lasting impression. Research shows that people with aligned, healthy smiles are often perceived as more competent, trustworthy, and successful. Orthodontic treatment not only improves your appearance but can also enhance your professional opportunities by making you feel more confident in your interactions with colleagues and clients.
